Liz Nielsen.
Liz founded Nielsen Law to give Austin families clear, well-built estate plans and the kind of attorney relationship that lasts beyond the signing meeting.
Liz is the founder of Nielsen Law. She has guided hundreds of families through the estate planning process, serving as their trusted advisor and helping bring peace of mind to their lives. As a wife, mother, and business owner, she understands how overwhelming an estate plan can feel. As an attorney, she knows how important it is to have one in place.
Liz developed her interest in estate planning during law school. After the birth of her first child, she dedicated her career to helping families plan for whatever the future may bring. She is Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization — a credential held by fewer than 1% of Texas attorneys — and practices exclusively in estate planning, special needs planning, and estate administration.
Before founding Nielsen Law, Liz was an associate at one of Austin’s premier estate planning practices, where she developed her work in advanced estate and business planning, asset protection, trust administration, special needs planning, and charitable and income tax planning. Before entering estate planning, she served as in-house legal counsel for one of the largest nonprofit organizations in Austin for several years — experience that shapes the perspective she brings to clients planning charitable components into their estates.
Liz lives in Northwest Austin with her husband, Ryan, and their daughters, Jillian and Isla. She leads a troop of 6th-grade Girl Scouts and supports her children’s schools (Hill Dillos Elementary and Kealing Hornets Middle School). The family enjoys walks around their neighborhood, traveling, and watching the Texas Longhorns, Iowa Hawkeyes, Austin FC, and Chicago Cubs.
